• Contact Information: We access your phone's contact list to obtain phone numbers and email addresses of contacts stored in your device's contact list.
• Email Addresses: We collect email addresses when you sign up for our beta program, create an account, or provide your email for notifications and updates.

2. Why the Data is Collected

We collect this information for the following purposes:

• Groups Feature: Access to your contact list enables us to make the invitation process seamless by letting you select and invite friends directly from your contacts to join Onda Sports.
• Beta Program & Account Management: Email addresses are collected to manage beta program participation, send product updates, account notifications, and provide customer support.
• Service Communications: We use email addresses to send important service-related communications, feature announcements, and surf forecasting updates.

3. How the Data is Used

We use the collected data in the following ways:

• Contact Invitations: Phone numbers and email addresses from your contact list are used to send invitations to those people, encouraging them to join Onda Sports and helping you grow your network within the app.
• Beta Communications: Email addresses are used to send beta program updates, app launch notifications, and important service announcements.
• Account Services: Email addresses enable account creation, password resets, customer support communications, and personalized surf forecasting updates.

4. SMS Communications and Consent

By providing your phone number during signup, you expressly consent to receive SMS messages from Onda related to your account, surf session updates, community interactions, or other service-related features. We collect and store this consent at the time of account creation or when you voluntarily input your number to receive text updates.

You may opt out of receiving these messages at any time by replying STOP. Message and data rates may apply. Consent is not a condition of purchase or use of the app.

5. Data Sharing

We do not share your contact list data or email addresses with any third-party services for marketing or commercial purposes. Your personal information is only used within the Onda Sports app to facilitate the invitation process and provide our services, and is not shared or sold to outside parties.

We may use trusted email service providers (such as Mailchimp) to send beta program communications and service updates to email addresses you have provided directly to us. These service providers are bound by strict data protection agreements and only process your data on our behalf.

6. Data Handling & Security

We take the security of your data seriously and implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information:

• Contact Data: Phone numbers and email addresses from your contacts that are stored within our system are hashed for security purposes. This means that even in the event of a data breach, the contact information is stored in an irreversible format and cannot be accessed in their original form.
• Email Security: Email addresses you provide directly are stored securely using encryption and access controls to prevent unauthorized access.
• Data Transmission: All data transmission between your device and our servers is encrypted using secure protocols.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

• For members who join Onda Sports: We retain phone numbers and email addresses of members as long as they have an active account with us or until they request deletion of their account. If a member decides to delete their account, we will remove all associated data, including their contact information.
• For beta program participants: Email addresses collected for beta participation are retained until the program concludes or until you request removal. You can unsubscribe from beta communications at any time or request complete data deletion.
• For rejected invitations: If you invite a contact who rejects the invitation, we will delete their contact information from our system immediately after the invite is rejected. We do not retain any contact information for rejected invites.

8. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: You can request information about what personal data we have collected about you.
• Correction: You can request that we correct any inaccurate personal data.
• Deletion: You can request that we delete your personal data, including email addresses and any contact information we have collected.
• Unsubscribe: You can unsubscribe from our email communications at any time using the unsubscribe link in our emails or by contacting us directly.
